BAACAL Founder & Designer Cynthia Vincent spent decades creating garments, textiles, buttons and more for the demand of the fashion industry. 8-12 collections per year, and the process of creating fashion illuminated for her the ways in which the current methods we see plays a huge role in the environmental impact we see around the world. We proudly source from deadstock- meaning we use what exists instead of producing and creating new textiles. Through our sourcing of designer and premium fabrics, we also source recycled fabrics and vintage fabrics and find ways to give them new life and new stories to tell. BAACAL proudly prioritizes sourcing premium materials from local, small businesses and fabric vendors in Los Angeles' garment district- many of which have worked with Cynthia Vincent for over 20 years or more.MADE IN LOS ANGELES
With ethical production, we are proudly Made in Los Angeles- designing, sewing, cutting, stitching and producing our offerings in our Los Angeles studio and partnering with local tailors and garment workers in addition to our studio team. In an era where exploited labor is hyper normalized in the fashion industry at large- we provide fair wages for our artisans- and continue to advocate for the safety and wellbeing of garment workers globally. BAACAL creates with premium fabrics and materials including sourcing vintage, eco-friendly fabrics, up cycled + recycled and dead stock materials. Made in Los Angeles, we prioritize local and in house production and use eco conscious packaging practices - reducing waste whenever possible.
